Maillefer Densfil FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions) |

Q: Gutta-percha has extruded past the apex. Do I need to retreat?
Q: Not necessarily. Monitor the patient for symptoms. If they continue, it may be time to re-evaluate. |
|
|
|
Q: What causes extrusion?
A: Too much sealer is the primary reason. If the extrusion is GP, then the wrong size obturator may have been used. ALWAYS use a size verifier. A passive fit with no tugback or forcing is necessary. |

Q: What do the calibration rings mean on my obturators?
A: Once the working length is determined, set the stopper to the appropriate length. The rings are as follows: from bottom to top- 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, 27mm(on the handle) and 29mm(on the handle). |

Q: What if my canal is longer than .25mm?
